Hi.
Welcome to another issue from Elevate Performance and Health. The e-newsletter that provides you with loads of hints and tips to help "Elevate" you to a higher level of Health and Performance.
As we all know there are many factors that effect our performance. At Elevate, when we speak about performance we are not only talking about our physical performance, but "complete performance". This includes performing better at work, home, in relationships and within ourselves.

Before we can perform better, we need to lay the foundations. Having the right attitude to life and getting your mind on the right thought path is absolutely crucial in achieving better performance.
I'm sure you have all heard about "positive thinking". Well, IT WORKS! Positive thinking is a mindset that we can all learn. Both positive and negative thoughts breed and multiply depending on how much attention we give them.
How many of you have woken up on any given day and thought to yourself "I'm really not looking forward to today? "I know I have! After that initial thought have you noticed that your whole world takes a negative turn? You struggle to get up, force your self into the daily routine, procrastinate, end up late, the coffee guy gets your order wrong, your boss snaps at you, blah blah blah, on and on.
The end result is "having one of those days".
So, we need start implementing a few simple tools to ensure our day starts on a positive note. Here are four tools to help you on the way to performing better throughout your day.
1. When you first wake up in the morning give yourself some time to get positive. whether thats
2 minutes to get your thoughts togeather.10 minutes to have a coffee or 30 minutes to do some
exercise. Whatever it is, make it something YOU enjoy.
3. Now this sounds really cheesy! You need to tell yourself positive phrases like "I'm going to have a great day, I'm going to succeed, be productive, perform well and enjoy my day". Told you it sounds cheesy! Just try it, no one has to know.
4. When someone asks "how are you?", respond positively by saying something like "I'm great" or "couldn't be better, you? "Not only will you feel positive by responding this way the other person will also be lifted by your positive outlook.
5. Finally, you have to believe in your positive thoughts. Doing these first three will only work if you believe in what your doing. Remember, positive thoughts breed, the more you think positive the more positive you will be.

1. TAKE YOUR GYM GEAR TO WORK OR KEEP IT IN THE CAR.
For those of us who aren't keen enough to exercise before work at 6am this one for you. We all know once you get home "you aint going nowhere". So, be prepared, have your gym gear with you. Go directly to the gym from work, then home! You WILL save time commuting and get to the gym more often.
2. SHORTER SESSIONS.
Like the sound of that, don’t ya! It takes the average person two hours out of their day to exercise. By the time we travel to the gym, change, wait for equipment, stretch, shower and travel again.
3.STAY CLOSE TO HOME.
Instead of traveling to the gym to run on a treadmill, get outside and run or ride a bike. Or, stay at home and do yoga or have a good stretch. Or, my personal favorite, a mix of a whole bunch of stuff. You will stay more interested. You could do these workouts in less than an hour and save yourself 50% of your time. No more relying on gym class timetables, these you can do when it suits you. No excuses.
